fist/finger sucking

Ds is starting to get his two bottom teeth. He is 3 month.

He had a paci in the hospital and a few days after we got home but never again because i allow him to pacify at the breast. But now he is sucking on his fist and fingers. Ive tried countless teethers including ones he can hold by himself to vibrating ones and the only toy he likes is his ball which wont fit in his mouth. Any suggestions. How bad is it to suck on his fist?

This is his ball. It's called an OBall. He likes it because he can hold it.

I don't see the question. All babies put their hands in their mouths. My son still chews on his thumbs every once in a while. He's 13 months.

Edit. I re read your post figuring I missed something. There's nothing wrong with little babies sucking their hands and fists. It's normal as long as it doesn't become a constant thing and baby doesn't hurt themself doing it.

Normal. My son started at 8 weeks. Just clean his hands occasionally.

My twins both do it, especially when hungry LOL! Very normal! They are almost 8 wks, and not teething yet :)

In my house, all the thumb/finger sucker babies needed braces.  Pacifier babies didn't.

I bf 4 of them. (2 were paci, 2 were finger suckers)

Much easier to take a paci away.

FYI. Pedi told me not to use OraJel. It helps for a while but actually toughens the gums so it extends the teething period.

It's normal and not bad at all. It's just something that babies do. Wash his hands frequently and he will be just fine.
