Wait, are you saying that you can't nurse more frequently or less frequently than every two hours??

Is it like a health thing, like unavoidable???

If it's not then don't do any counting and just feed whenever the hell she wants. That may be every ten minutes, it may get spaced to 3 hours at some points.

I know, you're not asking that, but, just trying to understand...

It's best to nurse on demand. However if the doc wants to nurse no less than every two hours start the time on the first side. If baby wants to nurse more often absolutely let her!

Huh? She won't tell me when she's hungry

Whenever she fusses pop the boob in her mouth. Seriously, it's a great tool lol.

Babies give clues. Fussiness, sucking on hands, etc.

At first I thought that I had to time feedings, or that my son didn't actually need to nurse before the 2 hour mark or whatever, but that is totally not how it works.

Whenever they want something when they're real new, it's probably the breast. It's your best bet.

From the beginning of the session to the beginning of the next is how you time.

I mean this is the nicest way possible, but I have seen some of your breast feeding post and I think maybe you should rethink your decision. Breast feeding is a wonderful and noble thing but I *personally* dont think its worth putting yourself through all this hell. Your baby needs a mom who isnt stressed and utterly, emotionally and physically exhausted. I know I may get bashed for this but if I was you I would consider it. I havent seen one happy breast feeding post from you. Also talk to your dr about ppd.

Don't stress yourself. Whenever he/she starts fussing offer him/her your breast. How old is your LO?
