Food-growing mamas--question please!

So, I put some tomatoes and basil in a large-ish pot today, but I think I may have screwed up. I wanted to separate the basil, since it looks like it actually came with a bunch of small plants in a pot, but I'm worried that I damaged the roots even though I tried to be gentle. I went ahead and put it in anyway, but should I just wait and see? Did I probably kill the plant?   :(

I've always had trouble growing basil. It might be climate thing for me, but I usually just buy a plant that is already established. As far as root damage, I've separated other plants and haven't had trouble, so it probably just depends on how resilient the plant is and just how damaged the roots are. Good luck!

Most herbs are pretty easy to separate without too much damage.

All you can do is wait and see. Good luck!

It should be fine. Water them and wait to see if they survived

Just wait and see....they may be a little shocked for a few days, keep them damp not soaking wet and wait...I did the same thing to some tomatoes and some coleus plants and they both did fine.
