I took our 1month old to the doctor on Monday to get his rash looked at, but it was bear the end of the day and I felt like the doctor blew me off, he said it's a non-specific rash and sent ne home.
There's a family history of eczema on both sides and his rash is weeping and spreading. I just want to know if anyone else has seen a rash like this and what works best to treat it. It looks much worse on his face and ears, the discharge smells really bad.
UPDATE: The doctor listened to me this time, he said he may have a secondary infection on top of the rash and prescribed him two different creams, hydrocortizine and a topical antibiotic. He said that even though the results from the swab wouldn't be back for a few days that he wanted to treat it as an infection.
UPDATE #2: The culture came back positive for staph infection and I did something stupid yesterday, I put baby oil on his head because he has cradle cap and it spread the infection to his scalp. I feel so bad because it's my fault it got worse, but I didn't know bacteria fed on oil, but the good news is that the infection behind his ear is almost gone. :-/
