For a 12 month old child to be saying 25-30 words?!!? At their first birthday saying "want drink"
I have never seen or heard about a 12 month old saying more than 2-5 words.. My friend swears her daughter was!! (now 3) She keeps telling me, Her Doc EXPECTED that! That at minimum they should say 12 words?! Uh, Really? EXPECTS?! 12 MIN?! I said NO WAY!.... My son who is 10 months says Mama, dada, bye, and I swear he is saying I love, I love!! I thought THAT was great.. Is it not?..
She was on me saying I need to get him talking more... How?!.. I talk to him all day, we do shapes, colors,ABC's, I do not baby talk, If he is fussy for naps, food etc I will always be like "Oh, you want milk"? " Are you sleepy?, Take a nap"? etc I pronounce everything clearly etc.. Is there something else I could be doing?.. He babbles and makes sounds all day, I always interact back with him.. I read.. . I mean I'm not really worried, As I know I am doing a great job with him. Doing what I should be, This just got me thinking though.. She also says all doctors are different when it comes to "milestones" Do you think that is true? exception being preemies, disabled, autistic etc..
Does this seem realistic to you? Have you ever heard a 1yr old say that many things? What about your child?
