My husband and I are fully vaccinated and we recently got the flu vaccine for this year.. We have had a terrible year so far, financially, health wise and everything in between...thank God my children have not gotten sick... Would
It be mean from my part to ask my friends not to come to my house unless vaccinated from the flu? Due to the rise of the whooping cough in my state I'm afraid that my children can get sick and for them to end up with the whooping cough..I have a one month old son and a two year old daughter. My one month hold have not has his Dtap vaccine yet but he will be getting it in his next doctor's visit.
Here are the symptoms of the whooping cough:
similar to the common cold, usually develop about a week after exposure to the bacteria.
Severe episodes of coughing start about 10 to 12 days later. In children, the coughing often ends with a "whoop" noise. The sound is produced when the patient tries to take a breath. The whoop noise is rare in patients under 6 months of age and in adults.
Coughing spells may lead to vomiting or a short loss of consciousness. Pertussis should always be considered when vomiting occurs with coughing. In infants, choking spells are common.
Other pertussis symptoms include:
Slight fever (102 °F or lower)
As you can see it starts with a common cold
I just don't need more crap this year...
