My son woke up this morning with white sores at the corners of his mouth, inside his top lip (which also looks slightly swollen), and along his top gums (between the teeth coming in on top and beside them). He's also coughing quite a bit this morning, though I'm not sure if it's related, and it sounds like he might have a sore throat as well. He's 10 months old, and I've never seen anything like this. I tried to look at them, but he pulled away and started fussing if I touched too close to them. Should I take him to the Dr just to be safe, or see if they heal on their own? If you've got any ideas what it could be, please let me know.
