And what did you do to relieve their discomfort?

He is 14 months and yet to have one!  I have really healthy kids though. If he had cold though...I would use steam, breast milk up his nose to relieve congestion, sleeping upright, etc.

My boys were born in May and they got their first cold that winter.

Maddie was born this past November and when she was about 2 weeks old, her daddy and I caught an upper respiratory infection and she, unfortunately, ended up with a cold as a result.

The only things I could do, being that she was so young, was use the saline drops, bulb syringe, cool must humidifier and sit in the bathroom with her while a hot shower ran.

Thankfully, she got better, with no complications and hasn't been sick since.

It broke my heart, even though the worst of it for her, was a runny nose.

Right before Christmas. My stupid sil and mil came over sick and with sick kids with no warning. So she didn't enjoy her first Christmas because she was sick. She was only 7 months old.

We put her in a steamed up bathroom, Vicks on her feet, Vicks baby plug in.

My 10 month old just got his first one about a month ago. I gave him infants tylenol, infants advil and put a humidifier in his room. Warm bath. Vicks vapor rub on his chest. I sucked out his nose alot too. Also gave him tons of love :-)

My poor little guy has chronic sinus and ear infections. Techinacally not a cold, but he had his first sinus infection when he was about 3 months old. This Texas weather blows in all sorts of crazy things causing him to get really bad infections. He actually just went to the doctor today for one and she think we might have to go to a specialist for him. He is 18 months now.

:( I used to get chronic sinus infections and it was horrible. I can't imagine a little one feeling that way all the time. I hope they can figure out a way to get him some relief.
