has anyone had an unsuccessful eye probing?

Arthur has had 2 clog tear ducts since he was born. After several eyes medications that didn't work we finally opt for the eye probing. One eye was successful but the other eye started giving us problems a week later. Now it's back to the same thing. Lots and lots of goo coming out. His eye specialist told me we need to discuss with the surgeon whether or not to probe again or to insert tubes.

I just don't want him to go through unnecessary pain

. What's your opinion? Should I try probing again and risk it not wworking or doing the tubes and himhhaving eye surgery

Bumping for you. My oldest has constant issues and we were to the point of a probing procedure, but then it just went away on its own. Thank God. Wishing your baby the best!

My son had both tear ducts clogged at birth. He's 10 mo now and both eyes cleared up shortly after 7 mo. Have you tried massaging his eyes? Start with clean hands and gently use pad of little finger to massage the tear duct. Per Pedes instructions: Push gently towards the duct as if you were pushing the clog out. Mine hated this and I had to wait until he was asleep. Good luck!

No, I've never been through but I understand your hesitation. Good luck!

I don't have any experience with that, good luck, though!

How old is he now? Keep it up, one eye cleared up before the other & one day it was like magic. Poof...no clogs. I also applied warm washcloths to his eyes.
