Pneumonia & loss of voice?

Do those two have any correlation?

Ds(11mo) has had pneumonia this past week and has been taking anti biotics, for the past three days his voice has been getting raspier and raspier until it's close to gone.

I'm calling the doc tomorrow to make sure but wanted to ask you ladies if you have had experience with these two before?

Yes, they can be from the same thing. My oldest has had pneumonia 3 times.

It could be related. When my then two year old was getting over pneumonia, I remember telling DH she was a little hoarse still and DD responded with, "I'm a pony! Neigh!"

Yea shes a teenager, but there is a strain that they get and its chronic. The lack of voice is most likely due to stress from coughing, not the pneumonia itself.

Oh, that makes since.

I had a lot of respiratory issues as a kid, I have poor lungs I guess. I hope ds just doesn't follow my footsteps. He had RSV at 2 months and now pneumonia at 11mo.

I had chronic pneumonia as a teen just like her. Im crossing my fingers she doesnt get it this year and brakes the chain. If he is coughing alot that is why he is loosing his voice. She did.
