Insight on my son's name?

I named my son Logan. In the baby name meaning it said it meant "Little Hollow"

I'm not sure what that means other than a small valley but how does that relate to a person's character?

I liked the name so I chose it but I would still like to know how this name will aid in shaping his character as names often do. (eg. My name means "industrious" and I am a hard worker)

Any thoughts?

I never put much stock in the name "making" the child. As long as it's not the name of something evil. I thought more about how the name would fit the child as an adult. Lots of names were descriptive of where the person lived or came from, i.e., "the little hollow".

My kids name means from the long hill. But I picked the name due to my love for it. Not the meaning.

I didn't look at the meaning of my kids names until long after they were born. I don't think the meanings fit either of them.

I don't really care what the meaning of a name is, to be honest, the kid's make the name, the name doesn't make the kid

When we named our son we had no idea what it meant.  See in the baby name book I thought the name was pronounced JAY-VIN but it was pronounced JA-VON and also spelled that way.  So my hubby said why not just change the spelling to Jayvin and then name him that sense you like it so much.  We in a sense made up the spelling and name.  So the book had no meaning.  One day when he was a baby at the doctors an old lady asked me the meaning of his name.  She said because you know the meaning of the name is just as important.  I told her I did not know.  Then I went home in tears because I did not know what Jayvin meant.  My hubby told me to google it so I did.  It said  "one who creates sorrow".  I cried just because of something an old lady said.  O well still like the name no matter what and he is a joy far from the meaning of his name .

I liked that name but when I looked it up it said it meant "hollow" so it was out. I just can't use a name if it has a negative naming. Kinda like Mary/Maria meaning "bitter", that could never have been a girl middle name for us.
I highly doubt a not-so-great/negative name meaning really holds any weight for the child's life and future though, I just prefer to avoid them.

My Daughter's name means donkies in Italian :( lol. We didn't find out until after she was born, we came up with the names by combining both her grandmothers' names, an unintentional mistake. We told her that if we/she ever travels to Italy to just use her middle name.
