My DD is bowlegged. It runs in the family (at least our's).  When I was a baby, about 5 months, my parents got casts put on my legs, then corrective shoes, and a bar for at night.  My DD's doctor wanted us to wait until she was 1 1/2 to see if she would grow out of it.  She didn't. I should've listened to my instinct.  We have an appointment with the pediatric orthopedic surgeon on the 5th. I'll let you know how it turns out.

My little boy had bowed legs forever it felt like. When he was born they were. The pedi just kept telling me they will straighten. They got a little better when he was 2. They started straightening out by 3. Now he is 4 and they perfectly normal.

My daughter is 1 and her legs are bowed and pedi told me if it didn't straighten by 2 then we will sent her to a specialist. I would talk to your dr and wait to see what happens when he starts walking.

I know exactly what you mean I went through the same thing with 2 out of my 3 girls. And YES, its normal and once she starts walking everywhere it will change. At her next appt, ask the doc anyway - although I believe they usually check on that at all check ups anyway.

Your hubby is totally correct!!!!!

well I guess its dif for everyone, I would ask your Dr, but If he/she says its normal get a second opinion... You should always get a 2nd opinion especially if you feel like your Dr might be wrong (they can be) dont feel bad many ppl do it..

follow your instinct!!!

all of my boys have been and are a little bow legged but they grow out of it our pedi says that if they are bow legged they usually walk earlier and they outgrow it unless there is something wrong but more than likely not our baby had a click in his hips that was scary we had to go to a specialist tot see if he needed surgery but he said he would grow out of it and he did he is now eight months old if only we could get him to sleep thru the night ha ha good luck at your appointment im sure your baby is fine.doctor
