I have tried this as well a few times at night. Does anyone mix bm and formula in the same bottle? I have heard it is ok and I have been told not to do it. Opinions?

Yes i had to do both because i wasn't producing enough milk with my first daughter. With my second i started back working and just FF because it was hard to pump and work. I would also mix BM and Formula together. My ped said it was ok

I didn't have a choice--I had to do both;  my supply just wasn't where she needed it to be (and I tried everything--a lactation consultant, fenugreek, mother's milk tea etc).  DD was 2 oz underweight at a drs appt (she also had bad latch probs and wasn't gaining in the hosp like she should so we did frequent weight checks once she was out);  once we started to supplement she gained 27 oz in 17 days!   She went from the 5th percentile to the 50th.  I had a hard time emotionally doing the FF cuz I always thought I'd BF exclusively but once I say how she responded I felt much better.  She would BF for 2 hrs too--probably cuz she wasn't getting enough.  She doesn't do that anymore.

it's fine to do;  my DD doesnt like the taste, tho so I don't do it.

i think that its great.  i would get too frusterated trying to solely breastfeed so now i acutally only do it a couple of times a day and at night.  the rest is formula.   if your kid is eating well and it works for you then i don't think that it matters.

I think everyone has a different opinion on what's "OK"

I was going to say the same thing.

I for one am a firm believer in breast being best. Now I'm also a "to each her own person," but formula has a lot of fillers in it that are NOT listed in the can, so if your child happens to have some sort of reaction to the formula (if she hasn't had one now she probably won't), it's hard to know exactly what's in it that caused that reaction.

Anyway, if it's working for you, then do what you have to do as someone else said. As I said, "to each her own." I wouldn't do it, but it's your kid.

I would try the pacifier before I'd add formula.  It sounds like your baby just wants to use you as a pacifier.  If a pacifier doesn't work, then you might want to try a little bit of formula.
