i had heard that but my ped also said never to give kids meds under the age of 2 anyways.. except amoxicillan when needed which is when the doc says so.. so im not owrried about that. :) you cant do anything about a cold unfortuantly.. just suck their nose, use baby vicks or baby rub, keep them warm, humidifiers i think and of course sit in a bathroom with hot water on to steam them up. :) good luck. both mine have colds right now also. :(

These have been out for some time now.  You can use a humidifier or a plug in to help.  Baby vicks on the chest will help and elevating while sleeping will help.  Tylenol will help with a sore throat or pains.

There's a group on CM called Green Organic Natural Simple Living. They have a lot of natural remedies listed on one of their stickies. I have been using some of them for my family. So far so good! No cures but definitely helping the symptoms!

If my little ones have  cough/cold... we swear by this routine and we all still get sleep and heal quick.

infant tylenol (for the aches)

vicks room plug in (you buy replaceable pads, i love these things)

humidifier in the room

saline nose flush

nasal aspirator before going to bed and possibly in morning.

I hope no one has to use it. Colds really suck for our poor little people. hoping everyone has a healthy winter

Vicks, humidifier, put them in the bathroom and run a hot shower, bulb suction, saline drops, etc...

It's just to dangerous to give an infant OTC medicine!

People keep accidentally overdosing their kids. I wouldnt give my child under 2 cough or cold medicine anyway unless perscribed by a doctor who though she really nedded it. I used saline drops, and the triaminic fan and it really helped when she had a cold and was congested.
