my son is 8months old..ok heres a lil background info...
he started sleepin all night at 2months..that lasted for a month..til we moved here to jacksonville..then he started gettin up between 2-4 to eat a bottle and then 7 for another..then the past 3months he's been gettin up 5, 6, 7, 8 times a night...
i try lettin him cry for a few, i try the paci, i try rockin him, walkin around with him, singing...the only thing that works is a bottle...i dont understand..he dont care if its milk, water, juice(i only gave him once)...as long as he's gettin something...then he falls asleep with it in his mouth..(which im afraid his teeth are gona rot)
sometimes he drinks 1oz sometimes its 4oz...last night he drank prolly 25oz...and thats not good!!im so lost...i feel like im stuffin him or doin something wrong..i just dont get it...
ive noticed his naps during the day have shortened and he usually doesnt sleep well....and i thought maybe bc he's teething bc he has 5teeth and more coming in...but i give him motrin before bed and teething tablets and orajel...
does anyone have any thoughts?suggestions
I'm sure it's the teeth...I'm not sure the motrin really works - it never seemed to with my kids! And orajel only lasts so long. Some kids just do NOT handle teething very well. My son did this - only he didn't wake up quite so often during the night - but he started not napping very well. It could be a combination of the new environment too, although it seems like you've been living there long enough for him to adjust. I always gave my son a bottle if that's what he acted like he wanted. They're little enough that they won't over eat - or at least that's what my dr told me. Talk to your dr about it too - and hang in there! It won't last!
I was having the same problem. My sone wil lbe 10 months soon and has 6 teeth and he was going to bed at 7 or 8 up at 11,2 and 5 for a bottle. I like you tried the pace, rocking, etc. nothing worked but the bottle. I think they get programed to get up at those times and then since they always ate thats what they expect. My son just recently started to get up only once but thens ometimes he'll be up like 5 times a night. When they learn news things like rolling over, standing, crawling that affects there sleep also.
