CRIB RECALL- Mine was recalled!!!!

We are writing to let you know that Stork Craft Manufacturing Inc. is voluntarily recalling all its cribs manufactured between May 2000 and November 2008, and sold between May 2000 and January 2009, due to a product defect.

The metal support brackets used to support the crib mattress and mattress board can crack and break. When one or more support brackets break, the mattress can collapse and create a dangerous gap between the mattress and crib rails, in which a child can become entrapped and suffocate.

Here are the item numbers and UPC codes for the recalled cribs, which you can find on the assembly instruction sheet attached to the mattress support board:

I just got my brackets from fed ex the other day. I don't remember how long ago I ordered them, but it feels like it's been forever. Stork Craft released a statement saying how they feel that the cribs are safe and bla bla bla because during testing it took 12 times the weight lmit for the brackets to crack and even when they had been installed wrong it still took 4 times the weight limit to break the brackets. I went ahead and ordered them anyway, but I haven't been making my son sleep elsewhere. he still sleeps in his crib at night. I thnk as long as there isn't more than 100lbs in the crib everyone should be alright.
