I haven't used Kushies - we use mainly prefolds with covers.  We've been using them since Caroline was about 2-3 weeks old.  I like the ease of washing/drying the prefolds and the fact that we can reuse a cover several times (unless pooped on).

I did get a few of the BumGenius 3.0 and they are ok but washing is more involved and you have to wash the whole thing after being used once.  I mainly use them for overnights since each one came with a regular insert and a "newborn" size - we use both at once for nighttime.

Maybe some one else has experience with Kushies.  Check out some of the cloth diapering groups too for great info!
