My daughter has a rash on her neck and chest, the doctor said it's from drooling because she is teething, and he told me to use cortizone cream to get rid of it but it's not working! It bothers her too she always tries to scratch it and it gets so red. I've tried a+d ointment and aquaphor also but neither work. The a+d worked the best but it comes right back as soon as she starts drooling again. I don't know what I can use, she has had this rash for about a month but the doctor said it's not harmful. Has anyone experienced this? and if so what should I do to get rid of it? Here are some pics

Hello :) awww she is Beautiful!!  i think it might be eczema... my daughter gets redness like that but on her cheeks and the Dr told me it's eczema.    i like to go the natural way all the time and i bought soooo many creams from the health stores and nothing ever worked, well so i tried this one

Gentle Naturals Baby Eczema Cream Disney Baby, Fragrance Free

i bought it at target but you can get it anywhere... and OMG it helped SOOOO MUCH!!!! go buy one and put it on her even if it's not eczema im sure it will help her a lot so she can get some relief from the itchiness. i use it throughout the day, the Dr also gave me cortisone but i only use it when it gets really red,  i hope it helps Good Luck momma!!! :)

Thank you soo much I think I actually saw that at the drugstore I'll have to tell SO and pick some up! Whenever I put anything on it or rub the cream in she gets this satisfied look on her face it's so cute but if I stop rubbing it she cries. I think it really hurts her sometimes :(

Definitely looks like ezcema.  Stop using all things with fragances and keep it moisturized.  Use the hydrocortizone but be careful not to use longer than 2 weeks at a time.  If it continues, i'd push to see an allergist and dermatologist.

What i have been told with rashes is that it stems from the intestines/ digestion.

Me and my daughter have dealt with food allergies( wheat, milk, and strawberries).

My DD is allergic to strawberries and strawberry flavor.  Whenever she eats them the rash starts at her mouth and follows done until it is out of her system.

Have you introduced new foods, brands or increased intake?  There is a cycle to a rash usually.  What is your mothers instinct telling you?  Try eliminating a certain food for a week see if it gets better.  Sometimes an individual child is not ready for a certain food.  My DD was 2 before she could handle wheat.

Major allergens are wheat, cow's milk, peanut butter(peanuts), chocoloate, nuts, fish, egg, and corn.  Sometimes apples.

I have a homeopathic food allergy spray that helps my daughter.

Good luck.

My DD has gotten little red spots off and on but go away right away so i don't know but My son has eczema but does she have little bumps with it? That's a sign of eczema. And I'm sure if the doctor looked at it the doctor would have been able to tell u that.

Your baby is beautiful!

My daughter had a similar rash... initially my ped told me it was ezcema probably caused by our dry winter air... turned out she was allergic to milk and oat- within a month of completely removing those things from her diet- the rash disappeared and has never returned.

There are certainly creams that can help- over the counter ezcema cremes- there's a disney one I think that works nicely. I also tried Aveeno oat... but for obvious reasons that didn't clear it up.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone for the advice! I think the rash is starting to go away because now it just looks like dry skin it's still alittle red but not as bad as it was. She finally had a tooth pop through so her drooling has cut down alittle bit so that might be why it looks like it might be going away.

It's not a rash, it's eczema and you need to keep her skin moist...it will likely get worse in dryer months...it's nothing to be concerned about tons of kids have it, both my kids included...just keep putting lots of lotion on the red spots (and nothing scented, just plain lotion)

I just wanna say your little girl is BEAUTIFUL!!!! The other moms seem to have the rash thing covered, but she will get more teeth and will drool more, so for the itching try putting a little cold compress on it to help ease up some of the itching....and then use whatever cream you decided on.
