i broke my tailbone in the army before i was even pregnant, but towards the end of the pregnancy it got worse.  i guess when it healed, it healed curled inward and when i was pushing dd out, the doctor noticed it and had to re-break it to get her out.  ouch!

anyways, if you can, i would go see a chiropractor who is well-known in your area to serve pregnant women.  i'm actually doing that soon, myself.

i also have the bruise on my lower back / tailbone area. . i talk to my doc and he said that it looked like a popped ligament or something... i have ended up with this in every pregnancy that made it to second trimester...(this one is worse too. :(

  • Not being on your feet as much as possible,
  • try not to be on you back at all. .

as these both put a strain on your lower half.

As for helping with the bruising and what pain you may have...

  • alternate hot / cold packs
  • take a HOT bath too thats what i do and it has helped,
  • if you have to lay on your back use a pillow for that area,
  • making sure your back is farily straight (as straight as possible)

yeah your in your 3rd trimester your joints are getting extra stretchy. I would suggest getting a prenatal massage If there is a massage envy in your area they are good I work for one here in minnesota tell them your pregnant and want a prenatal massage. Make sure to explain to your therapist whats going on.. they will be able to help you to work it out so you can be comfortable. Its only $39 for your first massage there. :)
