I am 37 wks pregnant and I have been having contractions for 2 wks now. 2wks ago I was 2 cent and lost my plug. Now I just get no sleep from these contractions and they still arent regular. WTH!! I am starting to get scared Im going to end up having this baby at home.. because I will time them and they will come in a timely fashion and then STOP!!!! Dr said its false labor... I cant take it. I'm aggravated caz I get no sleep and I'm toooooo tired all the time... and I'm scared I'm going to go into labor at home... anyone been thru this???
I had the exact same thing happen to me with my 2nd baby. 34 weeks I was 2cm and when I went in for 35 I was 3 and then 36 I was 4. The dr at that point said she wanted to just admit me in the hospital and break my water (because I had group-b and they didn't want me to deliver anywhere other than the hospital) she didn't want to risk me going home and then having actual labor come and not make it.
Maybe express your concern the next time your there and see what your DR says?
Thank you so much... I thought I was the only one because all my mommy friends are telling me this is wierd. I'm just going to go back to hospital 2morro, being that these contractions have gotten a lot stronger. I stopped seeing my dr a few wks ago because when I went in to see her 2 time for this... both time she said I wasnt having contractions... but the 3 times I went to hosp. they said I was... plus this is my 2nd pregnancy...so I know a contraction when I feel one.. lol.. After discussing it with the dr at the hosp. she told me to just come to the hosp every wk to check on baby and make sure baby is healthy. since her office doesnt except my insurance.

when i hit 34 weeks i was 2 cm dialated and started having contractions... they were regular... i took tylenol before bed... worked through the days... (i work at target and ALL i do is walk and push pallets FULL of stuff out on the floor).... so i was honestly suprized i made it only 6 days shy of 40 weeks... honestly, i bet if i sat around i would have gone overdue... but yeah... TOTALLY normal... when i knew for a fact i was going into labor they had all of a suddon gone from ever 10-15 minutes to 3 minutes instantly and they felt like the cramps you get an hour before your period actually starts... for some reason, when it's actually time... you know...

This doesn't really mean anything regarding labor. What your cervix has been doing & losing the plug don't necessarily mean labor is coming, it could be a month or two for some moms.
Have you been dehydrated? Eating well? Do you know your baby's position?

They don't have to be regular if they're are just practice, "warm-up" contractions. It's normal. Especially since it's not your first baby, too, your body is more sensitive to the hormonal shifts.

You can go into labor at home. That is usually recommended, even. The longer you can stay at home, usually , the safer. But it's still likely you'll have a ways to go.
