I watched the news this morning and it said H1N1 is more dangerous for pregnant women?  But getting the vaccine scares me because it's so new. I have not had a chance to talk to my doc about this yet.  Has anyone gotten any info about it.

Yes it is more dangerous for Pregnante woman and young children....... When it comes to pregnant woman the risks are to the mother not the unborn baby and from what I have seen the effects can be really bad... I am not trying to freak any one out but most ppl have herd that its  T*just like the regular flu* and there is less of a chance swine flu will cause serious damage*that IS true fpr adult and ppl with normal imune systems. However its the exact oppisit for pregnant woman and young children...

The vaccine is HIGHLY recomended for woman who are pregnant.... and if your doctor has its available every pregnant woman get it... We dont have it here yet we only have the nasal vaccine witch is NOT approved for pregnant woman only the shot vaccine

i watched "the Drs" tv show yesterday and it was all about the H1N1 and questions from the viewers.

they said it is very safe for pregnant women and the baby that it actually helps when the baby is born since they cant get the vaccine untill there 6 months. They said that pregnant women will have worse affects from contracting the H1N1 than others due to the fact our imune system is alot lower so our body doesnt reject the baby. SInce our immune systems are lower we will not be able to fight the virus off like others would.

The H1N1 vaccine is the same as a flu shot just has a different strain of the flu virus (the H1N1 vius)so if you do fine with the flu shot the H1N1 will be fine as well. The CDC was on there as well commenting on all the questions and said that they are currently doing testing on pregnant women and babies that have been born with the mother getting vaccinated and the study should be out within the month. Im def getting it!!

People are scared because the vaccine has killed some people but the regular seasonal flu shot kills people every year so why isnt there a big hoopla about that??
