High Risk pregnancy.. scared but holding on

Im 27 weeks pregnant with my second child. The first, my son, was a terrible pregnancy. I had preclampsia and well, i had an emergency c section at 28 weeks.  So far, doctors have been seeing me every week. Checking for protein in my urine and wat not. Now, i have chronic hypertension.. Since 15, but worst when pregnant. Iv emade sure to stay on top of this pregnancy because..well.. i had no prenatal care with my son. I was young and stupid but thank god he is a very well, intelligent child. Question, any moms out there a HIGH RISK PREGNACY as well?? If so, how is this experience for u?

Honestly, im surprised i even made it to 27 weeks and feel good.. well, besides tired at times. Im hoping for a full term bith but doctors doubt it. Even with 1800mg of Labatelol , my BP still acts up. Even tho, me and my hubby use no kind of season with salt. Just pure leaves

Congrats on making it this far!  It's somewhat the same for me!  Been out on bed rest since 22 weeks for preterm labor and I'm 28 now!!!  So exciting each time I make it to a new week without any issues!

Hey mama! I had pre-e with my firstborn only they didnt catch it till 35 weeks and my lil one & i were very close to death. However, I have had another child, and am pregnant again.  Fortunately, ive been told by both of my OBGYN'S for each pregnancy that it is more common in the first pregnancy, and that the rate goes down to 80% you wont get pre-e again! Especially if its the same father (somehow its linked, not sure how). So if you are feeling great, enjoy it! like i said, my first was a pregnancy from hell, my second was amazing, nothing went wrong, 20 weeks now with another boy, and I feel fantastic!

I am right there with you momma. My DS was born at 26 weeks, but I had no complications with him just a sudden on set of labor that they claim was from placenta previa. I am now 23 weeks along with #2, high BP, on the same med as you 200mg twice a day. Also at 18 1/2 weeks my cervix was dilated 2cm and I was 90% efface, I had a cerclage at 19 weeks and have been on strict bed rest since and will remain on it until I deliver, hopefully past 30 weeks. I also have a home nurse that comes once a week to monitor me and the baby and to give me the progesterone shot. All I can sat is stay strong momma and think positive.

I'm 35 weeks, 3days, and i've been on bed rest since about 28weeks with pregnancy induced hypertension. It's been pretty difficult. A lot of people see getting to lay around all day as this amazing thing, but it gets old really fast. The bedrest was helping my blood pressure for a while, but last week at my prenatal visit my bp was really elevated and they couldn't figure out why. So now I'm pretty much completely confined to laying down all day instead of just the limited activity I was on before. It has me pretty worried about delivering early =/ I guess it wouldn't be that bad at this far along in my pregnancy though. it'd be kind of nice to have him out now, but the thought of it still scares me a little bit. They dont have me on any medication because of how low my bp drops when i lay on my left side for 20min. they're afraid it would drop too low if they put me on meds.

its a boy

I am 31 weeks pregnant with twins, and it is considered high risk, I go weekly for ultrasounds and starting next week going twice weekly for non stress tests...I feel like I am just a ticking time bomb, waiting for these babies and hoping that we make it to 36 weeks...I understand, hang in there momma! every day is one more for your baby to grow on the inside! Good Luck and God Bless!

i was high risk with both my girls, born at 36 weeks and 34 weeks.

i am high risk, no matter what, due to severe asthma and a heart condition.

with my first, i was in the ICU for a week with pneumonia, when they finally decided that they had to take her, to treat me, and because she was getting smaller rather than bigger.  She was born via csection after 8 hours of induced labor.  my body was so worn out, i just couldn't any more.  i was on a ventilator and they had to do what they had to do.  she was born and diagnosed with IUGR.  she also has DDH, IHSS, and ASD.  poor thing, but growing strong, now 2 years old.

my second was a much worse situation.  at 24 weeks pregnant, i again was in the ICU, and was on a vent.  after 3 days they took me off the vent, and told me that my baby had IUGR.  they wanted to take her then and there.  i put up a fight, and went home on strict bed rest that day.  i was checked 2 times a week by my MFM and 1 time a week by my OBGYN.  so... 3 dr appointments a week, at least one of those being an U/S to check her growth.  i made it to 30 weeks when i again ended up in the ICU, on a vent.  this time they were not so happy, but i pulled thorugh and made a well enough recovery that they let me go home.  i was again checked 3 times a week, and once a week had a NST.  well, at 33 weeks and 6 days they said "you're having the baby NOW" and started to make calls to have me admitted.  i fought them to wait until the following day, so my fiance and family could be there for me, considering the situation.  they agreed, if i agreed to stay in the hospital, and that if her heart rate dropped, i knew that there was no choice.

so... i hear ya.  bed rest sucks, yet every one seems to think "oh how nice".  not being able to do ANYTHING sucks.  all the dr appointments are enough to make you crazy... hold on hun... you are doing great!  i made it 10 weeks after they first wanted to take my second girl... she was still early, at 34 weeks, but much better off for me putting up with the constant boredom and worry.  she was in the NICU for 9 days, on a vent, under lights, in a warmer... when she came home she was on an apnea monitor, caffine drops, and supplimented high calorie formula with breast milk... at a whopping FOUR pounds!  she is a happy and so far healthy 1 year old...

it's so worth the frustration and pain of waiting...

Wow, pregnancy is no joke for women like us with high risk issues. I mean, thank god ur alive and ur baby is too and well, but with my son that was the sam problem. Doctors says we were both near death. I was admitted in the hospital 2 weeks ago and they said that pre-e is common in pregnancy with the same father.. this is a different father which probably explains why i havent had too much of the high leveled BP.  The first pregnacy like urs, was hell, swollen feet from 17 weeks til i had the c section. BP 200's/100's.. i was a reck. Luckily we made it to 28 weeks. Im now 27 weeks tmr and like i said i feel 100% better than i did when i was 27 weeks with my son. Everyday i feel like she will just make it 2 full term and if not.. close 2 it. You have no idea how nasty it is 2 cook chicken with just paprika and oregano lol.. but its worth it because at least i know im doing right by here

I had my twin boys just before 29 weeks because of pre-e/HELLP syndrome, and they are 6 years old now. I am pregnant for the second time with a baby girl, and I'm almost 36 weeks. So there is hope for a full term birth even with previous BP complications. I hope your baby stays put for a while, and that you have a healthy full term pregnancy. Good Luck.
