Is this dangerous or could it cause any complications?

Well I'm suppose to take my maternity leave as of Nov. 18th, in my country the maternity leave last 3 months, 1 1/2 before the delivery and 1 1/2 after the delivery, the thing is that my due date is in Dec. 29th, and really would like to spend more than 1 1/2 months with my baby when she is here, so I'm thinking to continue working and request my dr to postpone the leave at least until dec. 15th, I've heard that some women are still working when the labor gets them,  and you know everything is ok, but I would like to know if someone have had something like this, and how it was..Thanks

Most women only start leave a week or two before their due dates and are fine. The added activity is good for the baby and helps get labor going.

Unless your doctor has put you on bedrest for the start of your leave, you should have no problems working up until you go into labor.

When I was pg with my DS I was due on Jan 14. Well that day came and went and I was still working. My boss didn't like it cause she was scared I would go into labor so on Jan 20 she made me take off and I still didn't have him til Jan 27. It never bothered me and I plan on working as long as [possible with this one too. Good Luck Momma

Granted, I've had desk jobs...(no manual labor/major physical activity) but I've always worked up until the day I went into labor.  If I got 3 months total, I'd be begging my doc to have it start MAYBE two weeks before I was due so that I could spend more time with my baby.  Especially knowing that the end of pregnancy seems to drag on forever.  At least with going to work everyday, you aren't sitting around rearranging the baby's dresser for the 90 milliionth time.

With both of my previous pregnancies as well as my current pregnancy I will be working up until the day I deliver. I just hope that I don't go into labor at work!!

With my last pregnancy i worked even part of the day i had my daughter. i left work to go to an appointment and found out i had developed bad preeclampsia...or would it be eclampsia since i had it and it wasnt pre...i dont know but anyways, i just called my boss and said i had to go straight to the hospital to be induced. i went back to work 5 weeks later. i work at a desk, at home, so no strain on my body other than sitting.

WOOWW thank you ladies, this is awesome, my job is not physical and besides the swelling of my ankles and feet, which is normal for pregnant women at our time, I think will be fine, I work at a call center, sitting so it's not big risk at work at least..I definetely will talk with my doctor to see if ihe can extend it. because my employer says they can't have me here longer than the date that appear on the document.. and I think that you really have to care is after the delivery, soo. thanks thanks thanks.. and Good luck to everyone as well.

I worked up till I delivered. I was at work when I started leaking amniotic fluid 5 weeks early, rushed to hospital and had baby that nite. Got to spend the next 6 weeks with baby and then back to work for me, couldnt afford to take any more time off. So there is nothing wrong with working up until you deliver unless you are a high risk pregnancy. I would definitely ask doctor if you could work a little longer.

my sis who just had a baby and is a doctor (working intensive care unit of the hospital for alot of the portion at the end of her pregnancy) worked right up to the day she was in labor.  the baby came out fine and she is perfectly  fine too!  The baby came after its due date too despite her high stress job always on her feet.

If you are feeling good, and your doctor thinks its okay I would keep working... It gets boring just sitting home waiting for the baby!
