So I think I just need to complain a little.

I was feeling ok this morning, no morning sickness and my cold symptoms weren't bothering me too much. Even though I wasn't feeling hungry, I figured I should eat something.  So I toasted a bagel, put a little butter and cinnamon sugar on and had a glass of OJ.

Now, I feel so gross! I can barely focus on my work (I work from home).  I'd like some water to drink I think, but I don't feel like getting up.  I"m tired and so nauseous, I don't think I should move (haha) unless it's to the bathroom.

And I'm watching  Discovery Channel - they just had that commercial for the show "I didn't know I was pregnant"... how could you not know?

If you didn't know you were pregnant it probably wouldn't have occured to you that you should eat something, and then, you might not have felt so bad. I know it's not a very valid explaination, but heck, it might work for some people, I always ate, or I ended up feeling worse, lol. Now I have a question of my own, why do I already miss being pregnant? My baby is only a month old, I must be crazy.

I feel for you.  I always get my morning sickness in the evening, so breakfast only rarely bothered me, but it sucks knowing that you have to eat dinner (or you'll somehow feel even worse) but eating is the last thing you want to do.

Everyone told us that hearing the heartbeat for the first time would make it seem so "real."  But...both hubby and I were pretty convinced before that, what with the nightly visits to the porcelain shrine.

I've watched that show once, it is crazy how people "say" they didn't know they were pregnant until they were in labor! Sorry I don't have any advice on the morning sickness/neasea. I never had to deal with any of that, thankfully!

Try some ginger candies for the nausea. Ginger is EXTREMELY effective for treating stomach ailments, and morning sickness is no exception. It may not make you feel like a million bucks, but it can ease it enough to make you feel like functioning LOL. I specifically recommend the candies because you can suck/chew on one as needed without having to hassle with fresh ginger. (Some women find the smell of fresh ginger soothing, but that wasn't enough for me.) I tried some of those really expensive Jamaican-brewed ginger ales because the have a lot of real ginger in them, but the carbonation upset my stomach more LOL.Google "The Ginger People" and you'll find lists of products they offer, and you can probably find a health food store near you that sells some.

As far as the "I didn't know I was pregnant" show....there was only ONE woman on there that I went "WHOA....I can see how that happened!" She was extremely overweight, I believe diabetic as a result of her weight, and hadn't ovulated in years because of her health problems (she had a LIST of problems). She'd been on some crazy diets and health regimens to get into shape and control her diabetes etc, and so when she went to the doctor with things like nausea and aches, her doctor wrote it off as side effects of the changes her body was going through. NO ONE thought she could ovulate yet....and she hadn't had a period. Turns out, she'd lost enough weight to ovulate again and got pregnant the FIRST time and never even knew she was fertile, and because she was still so large she didn't notice the physical changes in her body (I'm sure she was losing weight still, even with the pregnancy). It never even occurred to her. She went into pre-term labor and thought she was dying or something LOL (it's not really funny, but even at the ER, they didn't think she was pregnant right away.) CRAZY.......

That is crazy!  I've never really watched the show, but the concept was always weird to me.  I can see how that mom didn't realize.  I might just have to check out the show and see what is going on with these women!

Okay you are early on in your pregnancy maybe it's the sugar in the food you ate. With my last 3 I had to pretty much stay away from sugar during the first trimester and I have a huge sweet tooth so it was hard but even the sugar in milk would make me sick to my stomach. Also get some roasted almonds, they are awesome with the naseua and have lots of protein. Hang in there. Won't be long and you'll know what you can and can't eat!!
