So, we are expecting baby #2 in Feburary! I don't know if it's because I have pretty much most of the gear from my DD leftover, but I have been eyeing some items that I would normally pass up. For instance, the Moby Wrap...Im thinking I'll get one of those. We try to get 2nd hand whenever we can, but I might have to indulge myself in a couple of new-to-me items for baby #2!

What will you splurge on? What will you cut corners on?

Here's the Moby Wrap I was talking about:

  • I have the ergo that I love! Also, my huge splurge was the Phil & Ted stroller, I use it everyday with my boys!

  • This is our first girl so we're splurging on EVERYTHING!!!! We're putting aside $1000 for her. We're also getting her an organic cotten bassinet. The only new thing we are not buying new is the crib because the one we have for our younger son is a really good one. We're going to get her a pink travel system and new bouncer and swinger and one of those sleeping monitors. I can't wait!

  • Baby carriers, I want a new wrap, a ring sling, and a baby hawk mei tai or maybe an ergo. I haven't decided between the two. My ds will be 16 months when I have dd so I can definitely make good use of all of them.

  • I am not splurging on anything.  This is my third baby and my family will kill me if I spend alot of money.  Anything I need (well really Sofia needs) she will have because they will get it for her.  They have already started shopping.  I already bought her a few outfits and a diaper bag, we already have the crib, stroller, carseat, high chair, snugli... etc.  I just need a new double stroller, convertible carseat, and clothes diapers and wipes, and a new bedding set.

  • I love secondhand! I got a crib, high chair, glider rocker with ottoman, and pack-and-play for free, a new Eddie Bauer stroller for $10, a boppy travel swing for $10, a new-in-box car seat with extra base for $30, and a whole ton of clothes for $0.50 each.

I would have splurged on the car seat but found such a sweet deal.

So, now I'll probably splurge on a good breast pump if I don't get one at my shower.

  • This is my first, but I have been buying almost everything second hand, on clearance or getting hand me downs from relatives. BUT I splurged on my carseat (bought a Chicco Keyfit30 in the newest available print), my pack'n'play and my changing table stuff... However, even these were bought on sale or from albeebaby.com (lowest prices on some of the best stuff).

I'll see what I get at my shower, and then probably splurge on a moby wrap and a nice nursing cover.
