I recently found out I was pregnant and my friend was always telling me to watch the show I Didnt Know I was Pregnant.  So the other night....late... it happened to be on so I watched it.  I have never laughed so hard in my life.   There was a women on there who didint want to get pregnant and thought she was in early menopause so she stopped her BC.  She was 40ish... she had no symptoms until one night she started getting these horrible cramps... her husband came home from work and she was lying in bed... saying she was dying.... with all these pains... so he rushed her to the ER.  In the ER she was put in a wheelchair to wait for the Dr.  When a nurse came to get her she got out of the wheel chair and felt a gush of fluid... and as she lifted her leg to get on the bed she said she felt something huge fall out of her and was now in her pants up against her thigh.  The nurse decided to cut the womens pants off and when she did... she looked up at the women and said "you just had a baby in your pants"  LMAO.  I laughed so hard.... ... its not you peed your pants... or pooped your pants... its you had a baby in your pants... I laughed so hard... I woke my hubby up... I was a little gitty!!! Ahhhh....Love the HIGHS and lows of pregnancy...

ANYWAY, how many of you have watched the show?.... and how many of you actually believe that these people really didnt know?.... some I think might not have.... some I think are full of....you know what!!!  I cant imagine going 9 mo. with out thinking something!!!

  • i watch it sometimes but there was one the other night  that gave birth and didnt knwo she was prego she thought she was going to die and had a cyst that ruptured then gave birth and didnt even bother to call 911 or bother to tell her hubby when he called

she just stayed in her house til he came home from a business trip..i mean shocking maybe that you just gave birth but come on dont be so selfish that you didnt even bother to get some help if you knew that you were high risk,...she shoudl have at least called 911 esp with all the blood she said she saw

  • I did not know I was pregnant with my first son until I was in labor and in the hospital. My water broke about 5:30 am and I thought I had peed on myself. So I went about my day like normal, washed clothes, put them away, cleaned my room, helped my mother with the downstairs and in the kitchen. Then got ready to go out with my boyfriend for the evening. I also built a bed frame that night too. By the time I got to the ER I was 4 cm, so I was taken up to L&D and given pitocin and made it to 6 before I got the epi. Then about 2 hours after that I was ready to push!

I had NO symptoms and was told by my doctor since I was on this birth control and getting used to it, that I could miss periods. So I didn't think anything about missing a couple, and continued to take the birthcontrol. I didn't gain any weight I actually lost. But I know have a happy and healthy 2 almost 3 year old! So yes, I think it is VERY possible to now know you are pregnant. But I do agree the show makes it seem like some of the people are just trying to get money. Now with my second son, I knew almost instantly it was that vibe.

  • Perhaps not selfish...  rather well-informed. =)

We have watched it a few times but I hate how they make some of the births sound so dangerous.  It's usually the lady OB that makes negative remarks.

  • I didn't know I was preggo with my first until like 5-6 months. My great grandmother didn't know she was preggo with her last child either. She didn't find out until she went into labor. She was 4o sum yrs old and thought she was in minopause. I think it is crazy but possible!

  • tanman,

Did you take BC through the whole pregnancy?  With no affects to your baby? That's so amazing!  I guess you're lucky you had no symptoms, some women are miserable.. I've got some but they aren't too bad.

  • actually one of my ex b/fs sister in law was six months pregnant before she found out. She was on the heavy side and just thought it was gas when the baby kicked. Apparently regular periods were not normal for her.

  • i watch it when i can.  my aunt didnt know she was real heavy set so she didnt notice the weight gain and her periods were all messed up, she thought what was the baby moving was gas. she went into the ER and found out she was 9cm.  we got a phone call that evening and found out it never crosses any of out minds she might have been.

  • I can believe some women don't know they are pregnant.  If you've never had a baby and it's an easy pregnancy, you might write off certain symptoms as something else.  In the case of the OP, I can believe that a 40 year old woman thought she was having early menopause, especially if that was her first child.
