  • I'm in the same boat as you. I feel like water even gives me heartburn sometimes. I haven't found anything that really works, but I did read somewhere that a glass of warm milk with a tablespoon of honey in it is supposed to work. I haven't tried it yet, but i def plan on it soon!

  • God I know Mama, it is terrible around this time! :( I am 34 weeks. What meds do the doctor have you taking? There is always something that can be added. I am taking Nexium, plus over the counter Pepcid, plus Tums. Yep, all of the above! It is safe and perfectly fine because they all work differently. I have Reglan too, which helps because it makes your tummy empty, therefore the food cannot sit in there and your tummy keep producing acid to get rid of it! It makes me irritable though, so I don't take it. Mine has gotten so bad here lately that I have thrown up from it too. Man is that horrible or what?! I didn't even really know that it was possible to puke from HB, but I guess I was wrong huh?

Try not to eat too soon before laying down, take your medicine at least an hour before laying down, cut out foods that make it worse, ect. I know you've probably tried all of these things, I know I have! Call your doc and ask about another med you can take or try. Some people get relief from drinking milk or eating other dairy. Also, try not to drink any liquids at night in bed, or when it acts up. I always want some water after tums, but it just comes right back up.....so I try to take them without it. Sometimes just taking a sip of water in the night will be enough to get it going. I can't sleep sitting up, unless it's really late or early and I've already been asleep. If I can, I get the Tums and then sit up in the bed propped on pillows. I can sleep that way for a little while. Then it will calm down enough that I can lay down for the rest of the night.

I hope some of this helps and you feel better soon! Just remember, any day now for you and it'll be a thing of the past! Good luck Mama! :)

  • Have you tried taking zantac? That has helped my sister a lot but hasn't done much for me.
