OK so I had my son December 5, 2008 I only had one cycle which was February 11, 2009, we just found out in august that I'm preggo by total surprise ( have PCOS and took fertility meds to have our son) at the Dr's office for a totally unrelated problem. They did an U/S 2 days later and at that point told me I was 5 weeks and 2 days, which means they cant go by my LMP.
Fast forward to the beginning of of October when I had my pulmonary embolism, I insisted they check the baby, and there found out according to that U/S that I am two weeks further along than what they thought. But I was wondering, should I trust the early one more since there is a HUGE difference between what a baby looks like at 5 weeks vs 7 weeks? According to the U/S tech, the baby had not even attatched the umbilical cord or something like that, and at 7 weeks you would see the heart beating etc.
The dr is working very hard to figure out my due date more on target since I have to be on Lovenox and will be scheduled for a repeat c section. My anatomy U/S is tommorrow, so I dont know.
I agree with the previous poster.. I think I would stick with the first one.. and since you have an U/S tomorrow maybe they can tell you a little more closely to when you are due... And if the due date from the last time has changed. My due date si Feb 23 from my LMP and the doctor said thats about right when we did my first U/S.. and then at 19 weeks they told me she was 6 days ahead of where she is suppose to be and is due a week earlier. I just kept my orginal due date though... But i can see your concern considering you are having another C-section.. Keep us posted after your U/S tomorrow
I'm due Feb. 23 also, but my baby is measuring 6 days behind...my doctor doesn't change due dates unless it's off by more than a week or 10 days (can't remember which!). No matter what though, I would just stick with my original due date since I know when my last period was, when I ovulated, and all that. I hate it when drs change due dates, especially when the mom knows when she conceived. It gets so confusing!
OP- I'd go off the first ultrasound. The earlier they are done, the more accurate they are.
