i have a week to month question. maybe a bit odd

Your First Trimester:
1st Month = Weeks 1,2,3,4 
2nd Month = Weeks 5,6,7,8 
3rd Month = Weeks 9,10,11,12,13   
Week 1 till end of week 13

Your Second Trimester:
4th Month = Wks 14,15,16,17
5th Month = Wks 18,19,20,21
6th Month = Wks 22,23,24,25,26   
Begin week 14 till end week 26

Your Third Trimester:
7th Month = Wks 27,28,29,30
8th Month = Wks 31,32,33,34,35
9th Month = Wks 36,37,38,39,40
Begin week 27 till Birth

Hmm, well, two months would put her at 38 weeks, right?  That's the start of the "full term" range: 38-42 weeks.  It would be 10 weeks til the due date though.

Unless she is planning to deliver way early, you are right. At 30 weeks she still has 2 months until her due date, but that could go 2 weeks either way. But yeah....she's getting a bit ahead of herself if she thinks she only has 1.5 months to go! that would put her at approx. 36 weeks when the baby is born, and unless she has severe complications, no doctor would induce that early!

She may be thinking that if 28 weeks = 7 months, then 30 weeks = 7.5 months, but that method is based on 10 lunar months, so she's still wrong. ;-)

I am 25 weeks (on Tuesday) and I say I am 5.5 months. I don't like the lunar months method.

I will be 30 weeks in a day. I am due Jan 20th. There are almost 3 weeks of November left, 4 in december and 2 almost 3 until my due date in January. If you add it all up, it is 10 weeks, even though it is really two months and some change. Keep in mind 4 weeks is 28 days and most months are 30-31 days...  over 4 weeks. 

That is where the discrepancies are. :)

So the last weeks of the trimesters are 5 weeks? Thats weird. I dont' get it either I just say up to 39  weeks and just count months by 4 weeks...

Lol!  My mom and I argue about this all the time! 

Well ten weeks is ten weeks.. but i guess months arent exactly 4 weeks, so its a little over two months.

I am not sure i understand the question? Are you refering to the "nine" months of pregnancy? Because its nine FULL months, not just your done when you hit the nine month mark... nine months is 36 weeks... and she still would have 4 more to go..

Maybe since 32 weeks is 8 months, she just is thinking 2 weeks till that, and then one more month...?? That would explain her "month and a half" theory...

 haha its so confusing.  but yea i was like really wow, thats close... six weeks and then i started thinking thats crazy, and i figured i would ask. 

i want to be like lady your crazy haha. 

 

I am a 22 year old, anytime-anywhere breatfeeding, co-sleeping, baby wearing, let HIM decided when he is to wean, extended rear facing,  have CIO, happily married ost of the time, dog owning, pit bull loving, horse backing riding mommy to a wonderful boy, Nolan Joshua, who was born on Dec 13, 08 weighing 10.8 pounds and 22 inches long.  

All I know is that I'm due Jan 17th, so I'm 30 weeks today. As much as I would like to say 8 weeks, I know have 10 weeks (maybe more) left. But if you think about it date wise, in a little over a week it'll be 2 months.....so I guess it can be said either way! Mid Nov. to Mid Jan. is 2 months, but REALLY its 10 weeks. Geez I'm no help! :)

Well a month isn't exactly 4 weeks. It is like 4 1/2 weeks, so they are making up for the half weeks the last month of the trimesters.
