What holiday traditions will you carry on for your children? I love to hear fun traditions. I think that is what the kids really remember about holidays.

I love all your little post topics.  I love sharing my ideas, experiences since I don't have any mom friends around.  I also LOVE hearing everyone elses ideas....

That being said.. haha..

My family always had the big christmas ham & turkey dinner on Christmas EVE and everyone got to open a gift.  Then christmas morning we would do a family breakfast & then gifts, then the rest of the day was for the kids to play and the adults to relax.

For as far back as I can remember, growing up we always got to open one gift that my mom chose for us on Christmas Eve, and I would love to continue that tradition with my kiddos! :)

oh man there are SOO MANY! my family has it down to clock work you know EXACTLY whats going to happen on christmas eve/day every year because its the same a few things we always do are

we always set up the christmas tree the day After thanksgiving some years my mom would get eager and set it up after thanksgiving dinner was all cleaned up and she puts up all our childhood artwork on the cabinets and throughout the house things my siblings and i made in Kingergarten-12th (but with all holidays i plan on doing the same thing) and christmas lights as well

Candy Trains a week or 2 before christmas its soo fun to make just have to be careful with little kids and glue guns but we give them away with christmas cookies to the neighbors but as of the past few years weve gotten more and more creative creating santas sleigh out of candy and my BIL made an air plane its just fun and we always look forward to it

Christmas eve we always go to mass then come home and open 1 present, which is ALWAYS PJs lol but its still exciting who dosent love having cute new PJs to go to sleep in on christmas eve.

Christmas is the same every year wake up early (it got later the older we got but now thanks to grandkids its back to SUPER early) and go down stairs open all our stockings from santa then my mom sneaks away and would make a big breakfast which this year will be me since ill be due around christmas and cant fly to be with my family (first time in 23 years ive missed it with my family :-( but then after we eat breakfast we all go into the living room and turn on the TV to the fake fire place that plays christmas music (even though we have a fire place lol) and one person plays santa and gives out the presents to everyone then after all the presents were given out ushually after clean up almost everyone goes back to bed for a nap while my mom and me and sister (sometimes) and aunt go start christmas ham dinner  then that evening after our big christmas dinner my dad brothers and sisters and mom (depending on the year if she wants to) always go to the movie theater and see a movie.

There are soo many more little things that my family does that makes christmas time soo special to me taking an orange and beating it up then breaking off the ends to a candy cane and showing it in the orange to drink the juice bc the acid from the orange turns the candy cane into a straw. baking all the wonderful holiday treats with my mom. Christmas eve we always have a huge bday party in the morning for my little sister since my mom wanted her to have a party we would always have a brunch with mickey mouse pancakes and the first half of the day was not christmas eve but was reserved strictly for my little sisters bday

LOL Sorry soo long! but christmas is my FAVORITE FAVORITE time of year! my mom didnt have much of a christmas growing up so she always made it extra special for us and all 4 of us kids still try to go home for christmas always no matter what im very very bummed this is my first christmas away from them but baby is important! i even got to come home for christmas during basic training in the army!

a far as i can remember my dads mom my grandma alwasy bought my brother and i christmas ornimnets every year starting from the time we were born.evey year she would get us a orniment so that by the time we got married we had orniments of our own to get us started for our tree.

since my boys have been born i have done the same and i love it.i plan on buying my first baby girl orniment for her come dec that says baby first christmas on it.those r the very first orniments that my boys had and that is what my daughter will start off with.

by the time my kids r grown and married they wil each have there very own set to start them off and if they dont wnat them then i can keep them....
