My DH told me last night that he wants me to talk to my doctor about inducing around our baby's due date so we can make sure he's able to be there. Does anyone have any ideas on how to deal with the dissappointment?
What is preventing your DH from being there if you go into labor naturally?
There are risks associated with inductions and many of them lead to more painful labors requiring epidurals, IV's, lower baby heart rate, trouble breastfeeding, and c-section. Not every induction ends up that way, but if you read most of the posts by members of the group who were induced, most of them hated it and never want to be induced again.
Aww I am sorry. Research all on inductions so you can talk to your DH about the pros and cons of it all. And then (i don't know the situation) try to see if you can change his plans of not being there or another way to work around it. Find out all your options before you decide on anything. This is your body, and you are the one that has to do the delivery..it is up to you sweetie!!
Disappointment because I don't want to be induced but I'd rather have my DH there when our baby is born.
I was induced with our first son so I know what it's like and I did hate it.
My DH is a long haul truck driver. If I go into labor natrually he could be 2 days away and not able to make it.
