Okay so after reading a little and this is crazy cause I do have two kids already pregnant with 3rd but here is what I recently learned

1. hottubs are bad for the baby... always though that the reason they say hottubs are bad is cause heat can make a pregnant woman passout easy..

2. No lunch meat.. or soft chess that was the WIC lady told me

3. no heating blankets not sure the reason

4. no tanning and no sure the reason on this one either

though of a few more not sure how true they are but here goes

5. no hair drying

6. no driving after 7 months

7. no situps

can someone help me add to the list.. Im sure there is a milion more out there that i dont know..

mm and since I am about 3 months and I have do sleep with a heating blankets.. most the time.. and I went in the hottub recently.. and went tanning maybe 2 times in the last 3 months should I be worried??

The problem with heating blankets and tanning is just like with hot tubs: heat! Too much heat is not good.

Hot tubs, heating blankets, and tanning are bad for women who are pregnant, because they increase your body temp which is dangerous for the baby.

I heard that lunchmeat is ok if its heated pas a certain temp. The heating blankets and hot tub my Dr said because it will increase the temp for the mom and thats not good. Oh I remember one... only a certain amount of fish a week.... there is a certain type sea food that isnt good for us pregnant ladies either... I cant remember though.... Oh and acne meds I heard arent good either.. I read that somewhere a Dr didnt tell me that one.

No I don't think you should be worried, esp in early pregnancy, the heat things are more dangerous when you're far along. I always took hot baths though for comfort and have never had any issues. The cheese thing, just make sure it's pastuerized. Like I love feta and they say that one is a no no, but I found out as long as it's pastuerized, it's ok. I also don't drink caffeine, but they just say to limit it.

Lunch meat from a package is ok - just not deli items because it can have listeria.

Limit your tuna to 1 can a week, and try to avoid albacore.  No sashimi (raw fish).

I have never heard tanning is unsafe during pregnancy, but some may be against it because you can get overheated.  Anything I've heard or read is that it is bad in general, but nothing specific for pregnant women.  I tanned during my past two pregnancies, but haven't in a while so I won't for this one.  Not because I'm pregnant, just because of the premature aging it causes, lol.

Hot tubs can make you overheat, but also can have organisms in the heated water that can make you susceptible to infection.

I've never heard or read anything to say heating blankets are bad...??

Limit caffeine to 300 mg per day.

Obviously no alcohol or cigarettes...

That's all I have!  I would not worry about what you have done in the past as long as you know your pregnancy is going well!  Good luck!  :)

I NEED my hot baths to ease all the pregnancy aches and pains, lol.  I have heard that as long as you don't feel too hot, it's fine for the baby.

I also never heard of the lunchmeat thing till this pregnancy....and when I had my oldest I ate tons of lunch meat subs and sandwiches and I was just fine.  I did read that if it's freshly sliced, it's fine.  So, if you just gotta have a ham sandwich, go to the deli, get it frsh sliced, and then eat it that day.

my doc told me to stay away from the lunch meat with the exception of turkey.  It contains nitrates.
