Good news but sorta bittersweet!

So my husband is back from Afghanistan! He got to the U.S. around 2am this morning. I'm so glad he's out of there and safely back home. However, he has to go back to California where we're stationed and work 1/2 days Mon-Wed until he gets a 4 day break for Thanksgiving. Normally, they are given a 96 immediately upon getting off the bus, but since they are home right before Thanksgiving, it won't happen that way this time. Now for the bittersweet part. I've been staying with family in Washington this deployment so I didn't have to go through my first pregnancy alone. I'm due in 3 days and therefore, cannot be in California to see him arrive. Also, unless I go into labor, he cannot come home any earlier than Wednesday :(

So basically, long story short, I'm exstatic that he's home safe but I'm also a very emotional 9 month pregnant woman who wants to see her husband NOW, not in another 3 days!

So sorry to hear, but glad he's back safely! Sending you some labor dust then so he'll get to come see you sooner! I guess you could always say you were in labor, even if it turned out to be a false alarm ; )

I can relate. Although I wasnt pregnant during my husbands return from Iraq, I can imagine how hard it would be to not be able to be with him 24/7 as soon as he's in the states. My hubby just left at the beginning of October when our first baby, Lexi, was 5 weeks old. Its a hard time, but at least he'll be with you soon and for a while during all of your baby's firsts :) And pray that you are the typical first timer and go overdue! Good luck sweetie!

Thanks you guys! As of right now, it looks like I'll be making it at least to my due date if not longer so that's good at least! It's just so frustrating that he's a 3 hour flight away and I can't even see him! Soon though, very soon.

Awww you poor thing!  I know how your feel.  With my 2nd ( my hubbys 1st) he deployed when I was about 6.5 months.  He was gone until our baby was 8 months old!  I also moved to stay with family while he was gone, but fortunately, my husband got an R&R for 2 weeks and randomly I delivered my son while he was here, 4 weeks early!  **If he hadn't been born so early, his daddy would have missed the whole thing!
