YES!!!!! You are not alone. Im 22 weeks today, and all I do is want to sleep, granted so far most of this pregnancy I have been on strict bed rest. But I wake up at 730, get my daughter ready for school, home by 815 back to bed by 820 sleep until about 1-2 go pick my daughter up from school she will take a nap from about 3-5 and I sleep with her. Then Im up for dinner and back to bed anywhere from 8-10.
Today is one of the few days I have had to run errands and pick up meds, so I took a B12 complex vitamin when I first got up and it gave me a little boost, but now Im beat again and wanna sleep.
I do sleep a lot also but not as much as you have been lately. I do feel tired already and I've been up for only three hours. It may be that you're not getting enough liquids or food. I'm not sure but I feel like falling asleep right now. I think I sleep about more than half of the day.
Hi Heather,
I've been having to force myself to eat, too. I've noticed that if I don't get enough to eat, I feel noxious and usually throw up. I'm also tired and cranky. If I do eat enough, though, I'm usually ok with 12 hours of sleep at night, then a mid afternoon nap for 1-2 hours. I've been lax on my prenatals b/c I thought that they were making me sick, but they actually give me a boost when I take them, so the other posters may be right about your iron. I'd definetly discus it with your doc/ midwife/ nutritionist. :)
One thing that helps me when I am exhausted is to take a few minutes out of my day to meditate and clear my mind. It's nice to have the relief of a couple of minutes to myself.
Good luck!
I am almost 18 weeks pregnant and I sleep ALL THE TIME! I didnt know if I was just being lazy or actually tired. All my blood work is fine, I just am super sleepy. And if I go out and go shopping for a few hours for groceries or do a little running around, I am SPENT for the rest of the day. Its crazy.
