Has anyone's nesting instinct kick in around 29 weeks. mine has and thats all i want to do is clean also for some reason im ready for christmas (i guess thats because i know my baby will be here some time in jan) its not even thanksgiving and i have my tree and lights up usually i dont put them up till the weekend after thanksgiving not to mention my shoping is done. anyone else feel like me this early???
I have been cleaning like crazy. I dont know how many bags of garbage I have taken out of my house this weekend. I have went through every drawer, cupboard and closet. My hubby has been so helpful. I went through the kids toy boxes and bedrooms and everything. Wow I did alot. It does feel good though. You are not alone. I wish that I was as ready as you. No tree for me yet.
I would love to be nesting right now, lol. I've been feeling the urge to clean since I started my second trimester, but my DH may be getting an involuntary separation from the military (long story, lol), and it could happen very, very quickly. So I'm kind of on hold until they give us a date. It sucks, I didn't even realize Thanksgiving was coming until like...yesterday, lol. We have to be ready to move from Florida to California within a minimum of 3 days, so I feel like I can't really do anything until I know how much time we have. Great timing, I know, and they are delaying EVERYTHING, which totally sucks, lol. I can't even decorate for Christmas because I know as soon as I get everything up, DH will call, "Hey yeah we're leaving in 3 days, pack your bags!", So...I'm living in limbo!
My nesting comes in two phases. The first phase lasts about 2 or 3 months and it involves me hording and collecting just about everything I can for the baby. I can get obsessive. I got a TON of clothes from Craigslist and Freecycle, all for free. I seriously FILLED up a closet just for crap for her, all the way up to size 2T.It takes me about a month of urges to get it all put together, clothes washed and hung up, crib and room put together and whatever else directly related to the baby.
Then, the next phase is the cleaning part. I just started that today. I vaccuumed for literally 3 hours, getting EVERYTHING possible out of the carpets. I sometimes sprinkle baking soda on the carpets then vaccuum it up to absorb the dog smell in our house and our old vaccuum sucked. We just got a new one a couple weeks ago and I'm STILL vaccuuming up old baking soda that my old one left behind! I haven't done that in 4 months! Anywho, I spent a few more hours wiping down everything in our living room, from the baseboards, molding, entertainment center, bookcase, end tables and everything else with baby wipes (I don't use chemical cleaners in our home) to dust and clean. Then, at 9, I started cleaning my bedroom, wiping down the computer and computer table, entertainment stand, TV, walls (damn fingerprints! lol), dressers, and everything else I possibly can. I'm about to start the vaccuuming again.
Wow, I really sound like a crackhead when I read back through this! I'm usually the MOST unmodivated person on the planet, especially when pregnant and ESPECIALLY lately, when it's really painful for me to even breathe.
I read somewhere that nesting usually starts around month 5!

im 28 weeks right now and ive been having the nesting urge for about the past month and its not been easy because im suppose to be careful im not suppose to lift anything heavier then a gallon of milk and i cant stand to be up on my feet for more than an hour. so ive been trying to clean every bit i can but i have to rely on my husband to do all the lifting and putting stuff together. and he is a bit of a procrastinator. an it's hard right now because our house isnt big enough for our whole family so we might be moving here soon but we wont know for another 2 weeks. well im glad im not the only one having this feeling.
Mine hit im gonna say friday... lol... I have scrubbed my whole house (minus my daughters room, kinda horrified to go in there) and I still can't seem to get my guest bathroom as clean as I want it to be. My hubby normally does the deep cleaning (he is very anal, so his clean is clean), but its just not good enough for me.
Well, ive really always been a neat freak lol. I love to clean haha. However, when i turned about 33 weeks pregnant i really went at it. I felt my house just wasnt clean enough. So, i steam cleaned my carpet which was already new to begin with, i dusted everything imaginable including blinds, base boards, kitchen cabinets, tvs ect. I cleaned all the windows, organized the closets in my house, got all the laundry washed and folded, cleaned walls, moped, cleaned kitchen, washed bottles and sanatized them, packed the babies bag for the hospital (well not done with that yet) cleaned my sons room, cleaned the bathrooms, cleaned the back porch, i mean i went on a cleaning ramp page. I was so bored the next day because i had cleaned everything! So all i really do is vacume everyday and do the dishes that we dirty and of course laundry when needed like any other house hold would do. Im now 35 weeks and 4 days and im waiting on baby. ALl i need to do is pack my hospital bags, put the carseat in our jeep and well thats about it :) I cant wait.
