I am 36 weeks preg today. I started having contractions a few hours ago that were random and not too consistent. In the past hour and a half, they have been coming consistently every 5 or 6 mins. It is much tighter than the usual bh I have been getting and lots of back pain. What do I do? I don't want to be the girl who cries wolf a hundred times. How close should they be before I go to L and D?? I'm starting to get nervous, I just don't feel right.
I would definitely call your dr. They usually say if your pre-term and have more than 6 in an hour that you should go in.
I am sure every woman feels like you do as far as not wanting to be that person that cries wolf all the time. I always tell myself that I would rather be safe than sorry b/c if something were to happen & I didn't go to the Dr. b/c of that reason...I probably would never forgive myself & aren't we the reason the Dr's & nurses have their jobs? lol..that's what my husband tells me when I start saying things like they probably think I am crazy etc. I am prego w/baby #3, I am 28 wks & have been to the Dr already at least 5 times. Every pregnancy of mine has been different. With my last baby I was worried about ppl thinking I was crying wolf all the time & I waited too late & couldn't get an epidural so I wouldn't wait around if I were you. It really does sound like your in labor. I would go on to the Dr...good luck & congrats. They always told me that Braxton Hicks contractions would go away if you laid on your left side & drank plenty of fluids.
Call your doc or midwife, they may have you come into l & d because you're not quite full term.
good luck and congrats!
I would call and find out what your dr. thinks. They can usually tell by talking to you if they think you should head to the hospital :-)
