If you had or have complete placenta previa, I need some info...
So, at my 21 week U/S last Friday, they told me that it looks like I have complete placenta previa. Well, I came home and checked out the facts on it, and got myself all worried, even a little scared. I saw a lot of stuff talking about severe hemorrhaging, shock, emergency hysterectomies, and even bleeding to death. Plus bleeding so severe that you have to have your baby prematurely.
So please, I want to know your experiences, or anything you know about it. I want to completely prepare myself for what this could mean for me and my baby.

Hey, I saw that no one had replied. Try not to freak yourself out too much. There are way too many things you can read on the internet. I work as a labor and delivery nurse and typically there are not too many serious complications from having a placenta previa. Probably the most common thing is bleeding during your pregnancy and sometimes they will want to put you on bedrest because of this bleeding. Also, I'm sure you are already aware, but if the placenta stays directly over your cervix they will need to do a c-section for delivery. Just keep in contact with your doc and let them know if you have any spotting or especially bright red bleeding. Good luck and I hope you have a happy healthy pregnancy and a healthy little baby.
