My husband and I already have a 5 year old but he was army bound thru my whole pregnancy until she was almost 2. This whole thing is brand new to him so does anyone have any suggestions for me to get him some pregnancy/new born education? He is a nurse but his education didnt give him much as far as this goes, though he DID have to change diapers in the nicu for a month! Anyway, any suggestions? like daddy classes, a website, a book, anything? that is specificly for dads?

I am not sure, but with my DH he just caught on.  We both learned at the same time the dos and don'ts lol.  Such as when bathing a boy...make sure you cover the pee pee area or you will get peed on hahaha!  It was fun, and I was happy we got to do it together!

"What to expect" makes a daddy version that I've heard is very good.

When I got together with my hubby I already had 3 kids(one of which was only 3mo), so I've pretty much taught him everything he knows! He is VERY thankful for my knowledge! He says all the time he would have NEVER made it through our first together if it wasn't for the practice with my others and for all the things I'd told him to expect!

Birth classes will involve him, but Bradley is especially tailored for moms & partners.

The Bradley Method embraces the idea that childbirth is a natural process and that, with the right preparation, most women can avoid pain medication and routine interventions during labor and birth. The curriculum emphasizes the importance of diet and exercise during pregnancy, teaches deep breathing techniques to manage pain, and involves the husband or partner as an integral participant in the birth process.

A birth doula will be helpful for both you and him, giving him help to help you through labor.

Reading books & videos like The Birth Partner are really helpful, of course.   Here is some info:

The Birth Partner: everything you need to know to help a woman ...

The knowledge of how to give birth without outside intervention lies deep within each woman. Successful childbirth depends on an acceptance of the process. ~Suzanne Arms
