When do you...

Totally depends on your and your family.  I've told my family but no one at work yet.  I have an ultrasound tomorrow, so will probably tell work people next week once I know everything is going well.  But some people wait until after the first trimester to tell work and others.  I just can't wait. :) 

We haven't talked about names at all.  I was surprised to see others already have them picked out!  We were still debating on names for DS in the hospital room!  I few a names in my head, but we haven't had a conversation about it yet.  I need to dig out my baby name books.

As for buying stuff, my DF thinks it's bad karma to buy baby stuff before the baby is born... which totally didn't work for me with DS, so I managed to sneak some stuff in the house.  We also got a lot given to us by my SIL and other family members.  This time around, if it's a boy we don't really need much, if it's a girl, we'll need clothes and girly things.  We apparently need a new crib too, with this current crib recall today... so I'll be scouting craigslist for the next few months.

This baby will be sharing a room with DS, so I don't really get to decorate a nursery this time around (unless we win megamillions before July and get to move!)  Last time, I decorated over time whenever I felt a burst of energy.  I think we set up the crib and stuff when I was about 35 weeks.

I never really packed a bag last time... I just knew what I needed to take.  Labor lasted forever, so there was no rush to get to the hospital.

Oh yeah, DF bought a pack n play about 2 weeks ago!  I have no idea why, since we already have one... but I was just happy he was thinking of the baby when he was out shopping.

We do need a new stroller too, so I'll be scouting craigslist and buying something as soon as a I find something I like.  I don't really feel a need to wait until a certain week of the pregnancy to get stuff we need... I'd rather get it when the price is right.

tell people outside of hubby and kids (parents co workers, friends) told everyone after DH knew.

start thinking about names? Ummm im 12 weeks...and we've been thinking about it since about 8 weeks

start buying things? Ummm haven't bought anything yet..

Start decorating a room? Haven't started it yet...but looking into themes..

Start packing your bag? I won't do that until a week before due date.

With my DD i did everything last minute...and a name i came up with the day she was born...

yea i am 12 weeks and saw a pack n play last week at a yard sale and DIDNT buy it because I felt like it was too early! Then I was kicking myself for not buying it because they are so much, but then 2 friends I told that story to offered up theirs! So it worked out! But your right, when the price is right, thats when you get stuff!
