At 9:00PM on 11/22 I started bleeding.  I had a lot of pressure and cramping.  I called the Dr and they said just rest.  I was 32 weeks and 2 days.  I laid down and at 12:10 I realized I was having contractions.  I got dressed and my DH drove me to the hospital.  We thought I would just be sent home and it was false labor.  Come to find out I was dialated 7 CM.  It took 31 minutes to progress from 7 cm to fully dialated, water broke and baby born.  No time for an epidural or anything.  We are still in a little bit of shock.  My entire labor and delivery for my first baby was 4.5 hours.  Ethan Cole was born weighing 4lbs 5.8oz.  and 17.5 in long!!  Amazingly enough, at only 32.5 weeks, he needed no oxygen.  He is in an incubator and having trouble maintaining temp and the results from this morning showed Jaundice but he has increased to 10cc's of formula and keeping it down.  He is an amazingly strong lil boy and I couldn't be prouder of his progress.  His name means strong and I had no idea how soon he would live up to it.

It is still hard.  He is in special care and I am only able to hold him during feedings every 3 hours and now that he is going under the lamps, I only get him for 30 min every 3 hours but considering everything, we are soo fortunate and blessed.  They think he might can come home in 2-3 weeks.  Pray for me though, I dont know how in the world I am gonna go home without him.  But we still have soo much to do for him.  Thought we had another 8 weeks,  I still haven't even had my shower.  It was planned for Dec. 5th.

Anyways, I didn't tear or anything.  I have been up and moving around since I gave birth.  No complications or problems.

Congrats to your family. All will work out fine for you. My first was born at 33 weeks and he was 4lbs12ozs. He was an april fools baby by being due on the first and coming on february 13th.  Stay strong for your little man.

Aww congrats... I just had preemie twins born at 33 weeks and they are 1 month old today!  They came home after 2 weeks.  It does stink that he won't go home with you but if this is any consolation you'll have some time to rest and get ready for his homecoming...  REST NOW LOL :)  While you still can.

You are very brave because I don't think I would have been able to handle it. I don't think there is much worry because my mom was 28 weeks along when she had my older sister and she has a slight form of CP but other than that she is perfectly healthy also was in the hospital for 3 months. Anyways you are blessed to have your son being the way he is.
