Registering?

Just curious when everyone registered? Also, is it in bad taste to register at multiple places? My step-mom said that if people don't like WHERE I registered they can look at my registry online then buy the items someplace else, but I still wanted the freebees! Also, I don't have very much to register for, I have alot of handmedowns coming my way. I dont even know what to register for at this point! I should register at Target, then throw in some stuff I need for my home! Like hey, want to help out my baby? Buy me some curtains for my living room! haha

when i had my first kid i registered at babies r us.

yep ppl can look at the registry and buy from elsewhere and if they call the place where you registered, they will actually put that item as fulfilled.  we just had a shower for my sis, and a bunch of ppl did that by gettin better prices and convience at other places.  the person would just call in saying that item was already boughten to be taken off the registry.

as a form of etiquette, i would only put items on there for your baby.  it would tick me off if i saw a bunch of house items on a persons baby registry.  but that is just me.

I think I registered at around 20 weeks or so.  I registered at target and babies r us.  I was able to find better prices for certain things at one place or the other.

With my first, I registered at Babies R Us and Wal-Mart. We don't have a BRU here and I knew that I would have some friends that couldn't make it to one and don't have the internet that would want to buy something for the baby. That worked out great. The stuff at Wal-Mart was basically baby needs like soap, shampoo, toys, onesies, burp clothes and stuff like that. At Babies R Us I registered for things like the bouncy, swing, changing table and the little stuff too. I wouldn't put things for around the house unless it was like baby proofing stuff or movies for the baby or a cd player for the baby. Then maybe if you get 2 of something and already have everything you need you can take it back and get curtins or something. But I would only do that if I already had everything for baby.

I registered at Babies R us, and Target... No one said anything to me about it being rude, I thought it was normal. The only problem I had was that I got a few repeat gifts because some people didn't check both registeries. I just exchanged the repeats though so no big deal.

I don't think  it's rude to register more than one place.  I would put diapers, wipes, baby bath, lotion, diaper ointment, baby socks stuff like that. I always lose things like thermometers, the kits with the baby finger nail clippers ect.  So those are good too. Do you want a new diaper bag? Maybe breastfeeding supplies, like nursing pads or milk bags stuff like that.  HTH.

Also you can add that you would gift cards on your Target registry theres an option for it instead of asking for household items.
