Big baby

I went for an ultrasound yesterday and was told my baby was almost 7 pounds already.  I know US can be off by a pound or so in either direction.  My question is, does anyone know if having a big baby will make me go into labor earlier?

Thanks!

I think it can. My last baby was born at 36 weeks and weighed 7lbs 14 oz.  I am almost 38 weeks this time, wondering if he is a big baby too.

Actually it can be off by more than 2 pounds, remember that it is very rare for a woman to grow a baby that is to big for her to birth, the size has nothing to do with maturity. I know stories of babies over 9 pounds that were not ready to be born and had to stay in the NICU with underdeveloped lungs and also really small babies that had no issues at all.

Throughout the world, there exists a group of women who feel mightily drawn to giving care to women in childbirth. At the same time maternal and independent, responsive to a mother's needs, yet accepting full responsibility as her attendant; such women are natural midwives. Without the presence and acceptance of the midwife, obstetrics becomes aggressive, technical, and inhuman.
