To the mommies that have been induced.. I have a question
I went to my 39 week appointment today, and it was decided that unless I go into labor on my own this weekend I will be induced on tuesday, because I am expecting a 9lb baby already... My question is, what (if anything) extra did you need/or wish you would have packed or brought with you? I know that this can often be a much longer and more painful process... So what are some things you wish you had brought with you?

I was "kind of" induced. I had effaced to 100% and dilated to 5 on my own and then slowed down progress...but baby's head was at 0 and I was contracting every 2 minutes. So, my midwife sent me to L&D so that I could get my antibiotics in for GBS. So, I did get some pit to help things progress past 5cm. I didn't use a thing from home (other than my cell phone to text friends) while I labored. I went drug free and it took too much concentration to get through the contractions to need anything extra.
I am only 75% effaced and dilated 1 cm so I have a long way to go still lol... I know we are not using the pit right away, as I told my dr want to TRY to do this as natural as possible.. So he just plans on breaking my water first then seeing what happens..

With my first baby I was induced and it was nice because I had time to go home and get what I needed and went to the hospital. You don't really need much I over packed lol. With my twins I went to labor and delivery thinking I would be sent home.. (I was 33 weeks) Turns out I was 6 cm dialated and had a c-section with in an hour... I had nothing with me ... DH just made it in time and silly him in his hurry to get there grabbed a bag with a dress, (WTF??) one shirt and a bra LOL... All I can say about being induced is that for me it took a long time 24 hours but I had an epidural... I highly reccomend it.
i just wanted to add ..... pack a robe, i forgot my robe with both my babies and it sucked walking around the hospital in that damn frock they make you wear with your butt pretty much hanging out. i wish i had my robe both times. i was induced with my first and not with my second and they went the same way except that being induced made my contractions more intense and hurt more ( in my opinion) other than that they were about the same time in labor ( 6 hours with my daughter who i was induced with and 4 hours with my son who was all natural) wish you the best of luck!
I was induced with my first and I'm being induced friday to have my other lil girl :D It might not even take as long as your expecting-my whole labor process only took 7 hours-and i started out being 2 cm dialated. I labored for hours and wasn't progressing so they have me an epideral for the pain, I fell asleep for an hour and woke up completely dialated and ready to push. I used nothing from home except makeup-lol-
