Just getting home and i HAVE to vent. Okay, so i recently found out i was pregnant and even though i am not far along i do not need to be taking any chances on hurting my baby. My second job, where i use to work fulltime, is a mexican resturant and every friday night we deep clean the floor. what i mean by this is there is like an inch of a mixture of water, bleach, and soap on the floor. We move all the booths and scrub everywhere and squeegie it out. Yeah, not safe at all for someone pregnant. Well i told my manager before i came in that i found out i was pregnant and would bring him a doctors note if needed next week and although i could not do the floor i was very willing and would be glad to do something else. So at the end of the night after i did my sidework i helped clean the bar, me and one other girl (deep cleaning) Well the guys who work with me kept yelling "come on!" i refused and eventually got in an argument with one i had worked with when i was fulltime because he wanted me to do HIS sidework of sweeping and mopping the whole smoking section (mind you after i had already done MY sidework (we draw to see who gets what out of several things so it is fair), helped and did most of the bar myself, and filled my section. He could have done his section long before they started the floor. I told him i would mop behind them after they squeegied the floor but i would not be doing his sidework just because i can't scrub the floor and pickup and move tables and booths anymore. He pitched a fit and the bad thing is the manager (who is young and really not so good) was like yeah you SHOULD do his sidework. I told him absolutely not, while he was sitting and eating he should have been doing his shit if he wanted to leave at a decent time (mind you it was already 11:30) I just think it is ridiculous that they are bitching so much when its not like i didnt clean or do anything! Also, its horrible that the manager gives in after a little bitching. thats okay, i am going to get a note from the doc stating what i can not do and tell him about the floor cleaning situation and i will also talk to the owner of the rest. (he is always there working normally but his wife had surgergy today) UGH sorry so long! Had to vent!!! It just pisses me off when people try to inquire that i am being lazy when i go to school fulltime, take care of my daughter, work fulltime and still go work at this place 1 or 2 nights a week!!

So wait, the manager tried to tell you to do another employee's work? Pregnant or not, i would go STRAIGHT to the owner. You're not getting paid extra to do someone else's job, and i doubt the owner would want anyone to get paid for not doing what they're supposed to be doing.
good luck with this mama, i would have pitched a holy fucking fit right there! lol
Oh- I understand! I slipped up and mentioned it to my mgr (I work at a grocery store stocking) that I was pg and he flipped out. He was like- you can't do any of this work! They cut my hours down to 8 hrs a week the very next schedule. I was soooo irritated! Luckily my dh and I just got married, he is active duty (I'm reserves) and so his pay went up so I didn't really need the hours.
I ended up miscarrying, but it had NOTHING to do with my job. Since my hours have increased again, and I'm pregnant again, but I'm not telling them! NOt until I have to, or I'm ready to cut my hours myself! With my husband deployed it keeps me occupied and DEF makes time go by. They can call me lazy at work if they want to because I'm suddenly not willing to stock water and detergent like I was before...
