i know this isn't pregnancy related, but I always get the best advice from you ladies :). Since I am breastfeeding, my doc put me on the "mini pill" instead of reg. BC pill because I guess they can reduce ur milk supply. But I was wondering, for you mommies that have taken it, how long do they take to start working? Are they as effective as reg. BC pills while BF-ing? I just am really scared to get preggo again ( i just had my 3rd in October) and we have been using condoms and me taking my BC, but i have just heard alot of women get preggo on the pill, i personally used depo before but didnt like the side effects, so i am trying the pill. sorry i know i'm rambling but I never remember to ask my doc all these q's when i go! lol
I am a (almost) 20 year old, Mommy to 3 beautiful babies, Javier Brandon (7-8-06), Karina Adriana (8-8-08), and Christian Juan (10-20-09). I am a Vaxing, Spanking when necessary, Breast Feeding, Previous formula feeding, disposable diaper using, c-sectioned 3X, as long as my kids are happy, I'm happy kinda mama :)
I used the mini pill while I breastfed- and it worked well. Every other time I've come off b/c since I've been pg two weeks later- so it seemed to do the job!
While you're bfing I dunno- but as far as after I'd go with the nuva ring! Its what I've been using for YEARS and I LOVE it! It has the least amount of hormone of any birth control b/c its being absorbed by such sensitive tissue, and like I said, I swear by it.
I TOTALLY understand being paranoid- my ex and I didn't have sex for at least 2 months (lol- could partially explain the birth controls effectiveness)

IT worked great while I was breastfeeding...but I still was taking the minipill while I wasn't and I ended up pregnant this time with twins...So as long as your breast feeding I am sure it will do fine. Just take it right and you should have no problems I would think. Hope this helps some!

I will be using the mini pill after I have this baby till I can get my IUD (paraguard- non hormonal) put in. I had it after I had my son and it works great. I loved it cause there wasn't any side effects. Some people say they have heavier periods but I never did. I highly recommend it!!
