VBAC or no vbac that is the question...HELP!! (piog)
So i dont know what i want to do. i thought i had my mind set with a scheduled c-section but now im thinking about a VBAC. My doc. told me that i was a good canidate, but just the chance that something may go worng, i want to be there for my babies.
See my thoughts on a scheduled c-section is well.. i know when its going to happend and how its going to happend. no waiting, just get it done and over with.
and then my thoughts on a VBAC..scary, but i want to have one baby naturaly. its does scare me with the long labor and not knowing when the final hours will be. i know that a epidural is avalible, but it still kinda scares me. Plus i think that my DH will be int he room if it was this way (hes not into the blood and the cutting open).
see i just dont know what to do, do ya'll have any opinions or advice on which to choose to do?

If your Dr says you are a good candidate, then honestly, a repeat C/S carries a much higher risk of complications for you and your baby than a VBAC. If it were me, I would plan on the VBAC, but be willing to change my mind if my instincts told me otherwise at the time.
Why does my Pre-Schooler ride Rear-Facing? Because she is not a minimum. She deserves more than that. If we get into an accident, I want to know that I have done everything in my power to protect her. Rear-Facing is endorsed by every car seat authority in the US. It is PROVEN to be safer. Why would I choose to take an unneccessary risk with the most precious gift that I have been given? PM me for more info!

If I had the option, I would do a VBAC. I'd like the experience of a vaginal birth even though labor hurts and a big head comes out of a small hole LOL (nice visual) But Florida is not a VBAC place. Especially in Orlando.
Like pp said, keep your options open. You never know what could happen.
I had a VBAC in February and LOVED it!! If you have any questions let me know!
I would do the vbac. Im doing one with this pregnancy (hopefully it goes that way!) Having a repeated c-section is actually more riskier then having a vbac. But its all up to you and what you want to do. I would do a little bit more reasearch on the vbac to see if thats what you want to do!
i am kind of on the same page as you.....
id like to have a c-section because it would be easier, planned, i would do it for the wknd so i knew my dd has a babysitter, my df could have the whole weekend off, etc..
BUT
i would rather do a VBAC because it isnt a major surgery, its a little less risky (but more risky at the same time) and i would recover A LOT faster! (exp with a 2yr old!!!)
a csection has ALOT more risks then i VBAC does, but the risk for a VBAC is a lot more serious then the small risks that go with a csection.....
i totally know what you mean!!!!
i will be TRYING for a VBAC thou, just because i will be able to recover faster because my daughter is 2 and it would be a nightmare taking care of her, and a newborn by myself while breastfeeding

Im having baby number 4 and all my children were and will be born c-section. My first two were breatch so I didnt have the opption but when my third daughter came in to the picture and I was given the opption I was just to scared that my inceasion would open and kill my baby and maybe even me that I couldn't take that chance however please dont think that I wouldnt have loved to have been able to have my children natural like so many women do I guess you could say I was a big chicken and proably should of tried just I kept thinking is it really worth it if something was to go wroung? This is absolutly your desion I mean there are women every day that have vbacs with no problems what so ever I was just some one that was willing to take a risk on my babys or my health in order to find out if I would be one of those women. So good luck this is defintly a really hard decion to make but what ever you do decide will be the right thing for you!!!
I'm in the same boat as you, I deliver in 6 weeks and I have already signed my csection papers. I had one with my first at 34 weeks because of low fluid levels, and it really does scare me to try for a VBAC..... I'd love to have a natural delivery, so I'm also confused on what to do.
I am going for a VBAC. The risk of rupture is LESS than 1%! Ruptures can occur in normal vaginal births as well as VBACs so really it's a risk everyone takes just giving birth. The chances are just slightly higher after a c section. If you have any desire for a vaginal birth, this is the time to do it. If you have another c section your chances of having a successful VBAC after that go down since you will be hard pressed to find a provider willing to "let" you, and the risk does go up slightly.
DITTO!! I am also looking forward to after pushing out my son when they put him right on my chest. I think that will be the most amazing thing. After my daughter's csection i didn't get to hold her for FOUR hours! It sucked so bad. I cannot wait for my VBAC. I just hope everything goes as planned! Good luck! Also, recovery is WAY easier considering i also have a 2 year old.
