have you ever had your ob/gyn be rude or mean to you because of how old you are?? Like..they thought you were to young to be having kids, so they held it against you??

No! If you're having that sort of problem, change doctors immediately! I know someone who had that problem years ago and they were terrible when it came time for delivery. She was in a lot of pain and the doctors and nurses didn't care. You deserve excellent care for yourself and your baby no matter how old you are!

Not my age, but my weight.

I was told by a fertility specialist that I was way to fat to ever carry a baby and it would never happen and I'd gain a shit load of weight. Well, i'm pregnant with #2, both got pregnant on my own, my 1st I lost 12lbs, and this one, lost 15 but gained it back, so I'm even. I'd love to go see him and throw it in his face!

no. most of them are actually super nice to me because of my age. they think i dont know anything and that i am just some stupid girl who they have to explain every little thing to. it;s like...i KNOW how an epidural works. i wish i could describe the look on the nurses face when i was 16 and asked mhat my baby;s apgar scores were!! most people NEVER know what they are and there i was a senior in high school and knew all about it

Well for one, if you feel they are being rude, change.  two, are you sure that is why they are "mean" or they just adrubt.

I have never been to a dr that was mean to me because of my age, I was 19 I got pregnant with my first.  Of course I was one of the older mothers there.  It was probably a refreshing change for them.

However one of the hospitals in my city is catholic and they do give you shitty service if you are young and unwed

I was 18 when i found out i was pregnant with my daughter and at my 1st visit one doctor did make a very rude comment about me being so young and having a kid. But i am now 21 having my second baby and still go to the same doctors office and now that they know me and have built a relationship with me they never make rude comments. Some doctors just like to judge a book by it's cover.   Come join drama free mama's!

I never got that vibe from my OBs.  If you are, switch.  Don't even try to talk to them about this because it will not go anywhere.  They are being paid to take care of you, and if they do that with this kind of attitude, they don't deserve your business.  You have to be 100% comfortable with your doctor.  I would switch doctors if I were you.  It's not as hard as it sounds, you just switch.

No. I can't say that I have. I do have a midwife who has all of a sudden stopping caring (or so it seems). She's stopped taking me seriously, she's stopped being thorough with my appointments ect. But I can't honestly say it has anything to do with my age-I don't know the reason for her sudden change of behavior. But it does suck, because now I can't get another doctor to accept me as a patient, because I'm too close to the end.

No! My OB is very nice and has never made any rude comments about my age. She even asks when I plan to have my next one..I tell her never. =)

If your doctor is rude, SWITCH! You are sooo early it would be easy to switch. I just switched doctors at 29 weeks and am SO glad i did.
