Ok I am pregnant currently 10 weeks 2 days, due July 10th, 2010.  I am currently in school for nursing so that I can work in labor & delivery or maybe become a midwife.  Anywayz I am taking Anatomy & Physiology, which is basically learning about the body, the bones, and delevelopment of all of the above..lol.   I wanted to share some pictures and some facts!

First pictures because they are fun! These are all from my text book!

This is a baby at 7 weeks!

The is a baby at 8 weeks...

And this is the finally picture that I have of a baby skeleton at 12 weeks!

The interesting facts....some of you might know them but I am sure that not everyone does.

1.) Babies have 270 bones and the adult has 206 bones

2.) Their a two bones in the skull that are separate which make it easy for babies to fit to the birth canal.

3.) A Baby has frontanels, which hold the skull in place until sutures are formed later on.

4.) Babies don't have knee caps! Crazy huh?  They develop after birth and this is why babies can crawl.  Once they knee caps grow in they get irritated and that makes them want to walk.

5.)  The head is the largest it will ever be by the age 8 or 9 years old.

Crazy stuff...Just thaught I'd share!!!
