Glucose Test

I was specifically told to eat exactly what I normally would be eating... changing things up can skew your results.

My dr said eat normally just don't over do it on sugar right before the test.

i was told it depends on which test it is....is it the one hour or the 3 hr? w/ the one hr typically u can eat just about whatever u want....but i would not suggest eating for about 1-2 hrs b4 the test if possible....if its the 3 hr then u have to fast overnite and take 4 blood tests once at the beginning and then one every hr for 3 hrs after that....i had to do that and it suckd.....i ended up w/ a high result and that sucks even  more....no more eating whatever i want....at least not for the next 24 wks....i found out early cuz i was having lightheaded spells off and on thruout the day....i guess im glad they caught it early tho....so 17 wks of eating "healthy" then 6wks after i find out hopefully i got rid of it....i kno im doomd genetically to get it eventually but im not ready to completely give up eating the "good stuff"....i cant stand diet pop so that is gonna take some REAL getting used to cuz i just got used to cutting down caff. and now this.....AAAHHH!!!

I have to take it next week....and was told I cant eat anything? Its the regular one hour test too. :(

man, when I had it done while pregnant with my son, I wasn't allowed to eat anything. I went from the night before...dinner til 3 in the afternoon the next day w/o eating. I was starving. I hope they changed things this time. 

i did mine yesterday.. and i didnt eat anything in morning buti had dinner night before though. and i went to do my test it like first thingin morning when lab opens and i did it. but i went at 1215 to do my testing an i ate late lunch at 130

I just had mine yesterday and they told me no sugar that morning then during the test only water no food and no smoking til after the hr was up

did u have a one hour done already b/c they always do a one hour first then if that result is high they have u get a 3 hr done....either way if ur dr says dont eat then dont eat and if thats the case just make it early in the morning so u dont have to starve urself

I take my one hour next week. My doctor advised me not to eat anything after midnight, only drink water, and if I was hungry only eat protein with no carbs or sugars. I also scheduled my appointment as early as possible.
