How long for your placenta to come out?

I know it can come right after the baby, minutes, or hours later.   (Some have issues with it detaching before birth.)

For those who've already done it, when did you deliver yours?

Birth is not only about making babies. Birth is about making mothers ~ strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength.

Honeslty I dont remember. I was wore out from a painful induction. I was still being pumped full of pitocin so It was probably expelled very soon after. I know I helped push it out, I just dont remember many details.

Mine was delivered about 5 minutes later. My doc was pressing on my belly and kind of digging in there (TMI) to manipulate it to get out.

I felt it (natural childbirth, no meds) . . but honestly I wasn't really paying attention! I was so focused on my new baby in the corner getting cleaned up and weighed and everything. And subconsciously I didn't even want to see my placenta. After it came out, i caught a quick glimpse of it in a bag in the room. Ick!

I'm not 100% positive...but I'm pretty sure it was within 20-30mins or so.

I can't really answer this because they didn't let me deliver mine w/ my first... They pulled it out. Is apparently a pretty common procedure & not one I'd recommend. :-(
